How the EASE Cushion is made: 1) Water proof stretch cover that will not wrinkle under you and cause discomfort; is easily removable and washable.
2) Outer cover of Cushion: Long life polyurethane. 3) Layer of memory foam urethane over air cells. Helps to distribute load and prevent any 'shearing'. 4) Bladder containment pouch holds air 'Bladder arrays in precise position to provide our "Active Massage Action." 5) Multiple bladders, from 12 to 18 per cushion, depending on cushion size. 6) Custom sculpt uredurethane 'Butt Cup' precisely shaped to fit the individual user and wheelchair. How the EASE Cushion Works! CCPM Technology The cushion contains two separate arrays of air bladders. Each bladder has tubular projections that look like fingers. Both bladders extend across the whole cushion from side to side and interlace like the fingers of two hands. The bladder arrays cover the total topsurface of the cusion so there is no area on the buttocks that is not protected from pressure by the C.C.P.M technology movement. Step 1
The right hand bladder swells up. Half your bottom is now sitting on top of air filled tubes. The pattern of pressure would look like horizontal stripes across your seat. The area of support is about fifty percent of the seat surface. This pattern is held for 4 1/2 minutes.
Step 2 Both bladders are connected and are at EQUAL pressure. Across the whole top surface of the cushion for 4 1/2 minutes. Step 3
The left hand bladder swells up and the right hand bladder deflates. The part of your bottom that was under pressure in STEP 1, is now under no pressure at all. Blood flows freely into it's tissues for another 4 1/2 minutes. Step 4
Both bladders are connected and at equal pressure. You are now sitting on air with equal pressure everywhere for 4 1/2 minutes. The next position will restart the sequence with Position 1.

Unlike an ALL air cushion, which is just an airbag, an EASE Seating System is built upon a Butt Cup of polyurethane foam. Now, because of this, if it should malfunction, the only thing that changes is that the cushion is no longer an Alternating Pressure cushion. But while inoperative, it is still a very good Static Cushion. We have designed the EASE system so that it is impossible for you to "BOTTOM OUT." Our "Patented cushion construction" method allows us to tailor each Butt Cup to precisely fit both the user and the wheel chair. Our customers sit on a stable form fitted cushion that is much easier to transfer onto or off of. It costs more to build cushions like we do, but the results in safety and comfort to our customers is worth the effort!
